Hello Friends,
This week many people will be watching the most recently released Harry Potter film: The Deathly Hallows Part I. Death and loss, both actual and anticipated, are essential themes confronted by the characters in this wizarding story, as friends die, homes are lost, lives are disrupted, societal norms crumble, and the shadow of physical death looms dark. These cinematic projections, while dramatic and fictional, are reminders of the challenging presence of loss and death in our unfolding lives and changing world.
Each of us has or will lose family members and friends to death; it's just part of living on this planet. Many of us will change jobs, release our children into adulthood, move from our current homes, relinquish old emotional habits, and realize that our view of ourselves and the world no longer rings true. Some of us will divorce or be rejected by our children. We'll swear off addictions, alter business relationships, or bring friendships to a close. Eventually, all of us will experience the death of our physical bodies. We are, in a sense, faced with the constant demand to let go.
As Evolutionaries, you and I try to work consciously and wisely with all circumstances, including those involving death and our personality attachment to forms and the status quo. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to get this very abbreviated version of OMS Insights into your hands today.
During the seven days each year (Nov 23 - 29) when the sun passes in front of the constellation of the Scorpion, we have an especially potent opportunity to consciously, powerfully and peacefully release our attachments. This brief but potent 7-day period, when used consciously, can provide an unparalleled experience of ecstasy and the realization of our immortal Buddha nature when we rid ourselves of all attachments.
This is the perfect time to consider the evolutionary meaning and wisdom of death, to examine our attitudes toward it, to consider our attachments to form, to learn to peacefully let go, and to realize the liberating grace of disintegration in its many aspects.
In the single article in this Scorpion OMS Insights edition, I share with you a practical description of the evolutionary energies and wisdom now available to us via the Starry Wisdom Channel of the Scorpion and offer suggestions on how to skillfully navigate loss and gain understanding about the sacred relationship between life, death, and the ongoing revelation of beauty.
In about a week, I'll be sending you the Serpent Bearer edition of OMS Insights in which we'll explore the theme of Immortality.
We'd love to know what you think about our articles, and any other thoughts you're having about conscious evolution. You can do so by posting your comments on our weblog (you'll see links throughout the newsletter).
Thanks for being here on Earth at this interesting transitional time and helping to move our civilization forward. We love being in the community of Evolutionaries with you and look forward to a dynamic exchange of energy and ideas about conscious evolution in the coming months and years.
Blessings! Heidi Smith on behalf of the CSL Community.
Each of our lives will include many deaths - mental, emotional and physical ones, thus, at some point each of us will meditate deeply on this mystery. But if anything, this meditation makes us think intensely about the true nature of life and of the immortality of our Souls. So, for starters I'm sending you my essay on the Starry Wisdom Channel of the Scorpion, which has to do with death and in another week you'll receive one on The SWC for Ophiuchus, which deals with immortality.
